New Content Management System website launched using the WordPress Platform, with a E Commerce module intergraded, via Woo Commerce. CMC Photography is based in Lisburn, and specialised in contemporary portrait photography. What is Shopify?
Shopify Inc. is a Canadian multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems. The platform allows end users to get an e commerce website up and running relatively quickly, in the example below Studio55 were able to have the client online within 5 working days from initial go with the project.
E Commerce on the Shopify Platform by Studio55
Our client, based in Belfast, Co.Antrim Northern Ireland required an e commerce platform to sell their products throughout the UK & Europe. Turnaround was tight from initial content they wanted to go LIVE with the website one week later. This is where the power can come from Shopify – in basic terms you can signup for an account – within the hour have a basic website up and running. Shopify host directly, with the only technical element for the user, pointing the DNS records on their domain to the shopify URL. Shopify itself has a series of base frameworks to allow you to choose from, or you can add your own bespoke framework, which is what Studio55 designed in this case. Although not as many options as the bigger platforms, like Woo Commerce or Magento it serves it’s clientele, with a quick turnaround time and no large upfront cost, the platform costs $29 per month.
If you have an e commerce project that you are interested in getting deployed on the Shopify platform, get in contact with Adam McGreevy at Studio55 today.
Today mark’s me (Adam) working from home for three months. It’s certainly a new world and way of working, I miss the Studio and the others in there. Benefits we have saw though is clients embracing new technology, such as video conferencing, WhatsApp for Business, people getting “online” a lot more and seeing the benefit of it. Web traffic on the majority of our sites is up significantly, with some of our e – commerce / WordPress with Woo Commerce going up by 500%. The spirit and pro activeness of some of our clients has been unreal, and see the new business opportunities being developed and explored is something that makes me proud of our community in Northern Ireland.
Looking forward to getting back to full capacity and getting the BBQ on again in the near future. The plan is to update you with some of the projects I’ve been working through since late March. In the mean time, take care.

Effectively we were given a free reign to produce a design that reflected the style and service provided by Graham Secretarial Services. A modern design was produced in keeping with the new corporate identity. The design was then deployed onto the WordPress Content Management System, which will allow Liz to keep control of the content and updating of her website.

Social media marketing has exploded as a practice and has brought with it a wealth of articles discussing the diminishing effect it is having on the importance of a brand’s own website. Some have gone as far as to say that there is now an opportunity to completely remove your company’s website and replace it with a well maintained and strategic social media presence. Whereas this might appear a “cutting edge” strategic move, there are several reasons that a website remains your most important marketing tool:
1. Unrestricted creativity
Every social media platform will restrict in some way how you display your brand and the type of content you share. Examples of frustrations that exist are limits on the size of files that can be uploaded, the character length of a post, the layout of your profile or the dimensions of your artwork.
Such formulaic formatting can make it difficult to stand out from the crowd, particularly for creative brands who need to promote innovation and differentiation as characteristics at the heart of their company.
A good developer will help bring out the non-conformist in you, helping you believe “anything is possible” in website design and development. Building a “bespoke” website is the fast lane to bypass the congestion of the more static brands on social media.

The Cloud, data on-demand, online storage… however you look at it ‘Cloud Data’ is all around us. If you’re hooked up to the internet in some way (which we assume you are reading this) you are likely to be immersed in Cloud Data some way or another… but what does it all actually mean, what is the meaning and practical use of “Cloud Computing” and how can you utilize it?
In this guide we’re going to take a look of the some the key points around Cloud Computing, how to best utilise cloud data, the change from hardware to Cloud and hopefully quell some of the jargon surrounding the Cloud. Our expert guide in this article is Craig Sharp, MD from Abussi Ltd.
One of Studio55’s clients is Causeway Cycle Adventures. They provide hire bikes and cycling tours around the North Coast. What makes them different is that they also provide tours on E bikes, an E Bike is a pedal assisted bike with helps you pedal via an electric motor, so it’s ideal for people who haven’t been on a bike in a long time, or don’t have the fitness but still want to enjoy the freedom that the bike gives. For 2015 Ivan is offering gift vouchers, it’s worth a look. Check his website out – http://causewaycycleadventures.co.uk/
Cloud storage has made storing our data a simple and accessible task. But much like using any service over the internet, a security-conscious voice echoes from the back of our minds. Rather than saving your precious data on a hard drive you physically touch and shove under your mattress for safe keeping, cloud storage puts your data in the hands of corporations and placed into the cloud.
The government have come under a heap of criticism recently after announcing some new privacy-reducing internet laws. Included in a draft of the Investigatory Powers Bill, internet firms will be tied to keeping a record of people’s online activity for a total of 12 months.
The bill has been labelled by Prime Minister David Cameron as one of the most important pieces of legislation his current government will pass. After years of intense debate over Britain’s powers of surveillance, three separate committees all recommended a serious overhaul to our legal framework on the issue.
Security chiefs and policing organisations feel reform of their powers is long overdue, with the current legislation described as confusing, fragmented and full of grey areas. Central to their complaints is that the current laws were written before the boom of the digital age, leading to hiding places online for those who are a threat to social security.
Had a great day out at Castlewellan Forest Park with Jonathan and Robin. We hit up the Red MTB trails, it was Robin’s first time out at the trails, we had a great time and all home in one piece! Over the weekend I attended the Sunflower races here in Northern Ireland. This is traditionally the season finale, as it combines as the final round of the Irish Superbike Championship. I made a late call on going, having had history with the event, with sponsored rides and clients being past winners, I’d heard on of our clients was on his last outing for a while in the superbike class. It was great seeing David Haire starting from the front row of the grid, he had a great meeting. It was also nice to see our other clients represented at the event as both sponsors of riders, teams and the event itself. Boyce Precision Engineering were present, as an event sponsor, as well as team and rider sponsors for Jonny Campbell, Wilson Craig racing and of course supplying parts to one of the leading Irish Superbike teams. It was good to see the EHA Group represented as one of the sponsors on one of the bikes. Studio55 would be interested in some sponsorship opportunities for both rider or team for the 2016 season. If interested, drop us a line at, email@example.com.
Cheers, Adam McG
